What is Durable Water Repellent (DWR)?Updated 3 years ago

Durable Water Repellent (DWR for short) is a chemical compound that is applied to the outer fabric of a garment designed to make the surface of the fabric water repellent. This topical chemical coating is made up of compounds called polymers. Once DWR is applied and bonded to the fabric, garments can become water-repellent, causing water to bead up and slide off.
