The DWR on my jacket is losing its water repellency. Is there anything I can do?Updated 3 years ago

DWR (Durable Water Repellent coating) needs to be serviced every so often to perform at optimum levels. Dirt, grime, and oil that accumulate on the exterior of the garment are the number one causes of DWR deterioration. Reactivating the DWR can be as simple as washing and drying the jacket. Another alternative is to re-treat the jacket with another coating of DWR. In-home DWR kits can be found online, and while they are not generally as effective as the original DWR that was applied to the jacket, these kits if used correctly can revive some of the DWR properties.
